Henan crane manufacturers share some precautions when using cables for bridge cranes

1. To enhance the safety and reliability of bridge crane components, when using a suspended cable trolley (or cable guide), measures should be taken to prevent the cable from being worn and excessively bent during movement. For cables with an outer diameter of no more than 8mm, the curvature diameter of the cable suspension bend should be at least 6.3 times the outer diameter of the cable; for cables with an outer diameter greater than 8mm, it should be at least 8 times the outer diameter; for cables with an outer diameter greater than 12.5mm, it should be at least 10 times the outer diameter; for flat cables, the thickness of the cable should be equivalent to the diameter of a round cable.

When arranging cables, it is necessary to ensure that all cables are of equal length, the crimping with pressing plates is secure, and the outer diameters of cables on the same layer are as close as possible. It is important to avoid excessive stress on one or a few cables. Traction steel wire ropes should be provided between suspended cable trolleys. During operation, when the spacing between two adjacent suspended cable trolleys causes the angle between the suspended cables to approach 120°, the traction steel wire ropes should be fully straightened and stressed.

2. When using a cable drum for power supply, it is necessary to prevent the cable from being worn during movement. For cables with an outer diameter of no more than 21.5mm, the bottom diameter of the cable drum should be at least 10 times the outer diameter of the cable; for cables with an outer diameter greater than 21.5mm, the bottom diameter of the cable drum should be at least 12.5 times the outer diameter of the cable.

The cable reel should be capable of automatically winding the cable, and the driving torque of the cable reel should not be less than the maximum winding torque required for winding the cable. During the cable laying process, the traction force acting on the cable conductor should be as small as possible. For cables without reinforced cores, the maximum allowable tensile force acting on the copper conductor cross-section is 20N/mm2. When the cable winding speed required for bridge crane accessories is high or the cable self-weight is heavy, a reinforced steel wire rope capable of withstanding the required traction force should be added as a core.
